Forum Rules & FAQ
Welcome to TUNE-SEEK.
These rules are here to keep the site organized, useful, and respectful for everyone. By using this site and posting through the comment system, you agree to follow these rules.
The administration reserves the right to edit, move, or remove posts that do not fit the purpose of the site or violate these guidelines. Repeated or serious violations may result in moderation, restricted access, or a permanent ban.
These rules may be updated when needed.
1. General Conduct
Please treat other members with respect.
The following is not allowed:
- personal attacks, insults, harassment, or threats
- abusive, hateful, discriminatory, or deliberately provocative content
- obscene or excessively offensive language
- spam, flooding, trolling, or intentionally disruptive behavior
- commercial advertising, self-promotion, or attempts to use the site for business purposes
- impersonating staff, moderators, or other members
Disagreements are fine. Hostility is not.
If you do not like a release, artist, or style, express your opinion respectfully and constructively. Low-effort hostility such as “this is trash” or similar comments may be removed.
2. Usernames, Profiles, and Identity
Usernames and profile images must be appropriate for a public music forum.
The following may lead to removal of content or account restrictions:
- offensive or vulgar usernames
- names designed to imitate moderators, administrators, or official site roles
- usernames or profile images used for advertising
- misleading or impersonating identities
- avatars containing hate symbols, explicit sexual content, or graphic violence
Keep it simple and respectful.
3. Posting Rules
Before posting, make sure your comment is relevant to the topic or thread.
Do not:
- post off-topic messages in release or discussion threads
- repeatedly post the same message
- derail a thread with unrelated arguments
- leave empty, meaningless, or spam-style comments
Try to post in the correct section whenever possible.
Examples:
- Bug reports go in the Bug Reports section
- questions about site usage go in Forum Rules & FAQ or the relevant help thread
- music identification requests should go in the correct search/request thread
- release-related comments should stay under the relevant release post
4. Links, Files, and External Resources
To keep the site organized and safe, users should upload files to reliable file hosts and use proper direct links where required.
Please follow these basic rules:
- do not post misleading or fake download links
- do not hide links behind unrelated text
- do not use the site for pure traffic farming or ad-spam
- do not post suspicious, malicious, or deceptive links
- do not flood comments with random external URLs
When posting images in comments, use a proper image host and, where possible, a direct image link.
When posting YouTube videos, a normal direct YouTube link is enough.
If you are sharing downloadable material, make sure the post is clear, readable, and not a duplicate of something already available on the site.
5. Duplicates and Content Quality
Please check the site before posting a release, request, or information that may already exist.
Avoid:
- duplicate releases with the same content and no meaningful improvement
- reposting the same links without a reason
- low-quality or incomplete posts with missing information
- careless posting that makes browsing harder for others
If your version is clearly better — for example:
- better quality
- more complete tracklist or metadata
- improved mirrors
- lossless instead of lossy
- a higher quality video version
— then it may be acceptable as a separate post or as an update to the existing one.
Whenever possible, contribute something useful rather than repeating what is already there.
6. Language
English is preferred for clarity and consistency across the site.
Russian is also acceptable when necessary, but please write clearly and avoid excessive slang or unreadable transliteration.
Posts written in a way that other users cannot reasonably understand may be edited, moved, or removed.
7. Moderation and Administration
Moderators and administrators are here to keep the site usable and organized.
They may:
- edit or remove posts that break the rules
- move content to a more suitable section
- remove duplicate or misleading posts
- warn users who repeatedly ignore the rules
- restrict or ban users in serious cases
If you believe a moderation action was unfair, contact the administrator calmly and provide context or evidence if needed. Public drama in unrelated threads does not help and may be removed.
8. Reporting Problems
If you find a broken page, missing image, dead link, layout issue, label problem, search error, or anything else that does not work correctly, please report it in the Bug Reports section.
When reporting a problem, include as much detail as possible:
- the page URL
- what exactly is broken
- what device or browser you used
- a screenshot, if possible
Clear reports help fix issues faster.
9. Common Sense Rule
Use common sense before posting.
Ask yourself:
- Is this relevant?
- Is this respectful?
- Is this useful?
- Is this already posted somewhere else?
- Would this make the site better or worse?
If the answer is “worse,” do not post it.
