The band L.A.P.D. was formed in 1989 and featured future members of Korn, with the exception of Ray Luzier. In 1991, L.A.P.D. released their first and only album, Who’s Laughing Now. After a year of touring, Richard Morrill left the group.
The band later met Sexart vocalist Jonathan Davis at a local bar and invited him to join, eventually regrouping in Los Angeles under the name Korn. In 1997, an album titled L.A.P.D. was released, containing the band’s complete collection of songs.
In essence, this release was not simply a reissue of Who’s Laughing Now, but rather a compilation of all the material the group had recorded. Along with the 11 songs from Who’s Laughing Now, it also included 3 tracks from the James Brown single, originally released in 1989. They never managed to record anything else, as the musicians soon moved on to Korn.
