The Wascals chose the wrong name. The funky four-Buc Whead, A.L.Phie, St. Imey and Spit-anky-plus one, producer J Swift, could have easily beat those rich and shameless eses to the punch by claiming The Lost Boyz moniker. In a career held back more times than the Sweat Hogs, these LA youngstas, at one time, appeared destined for success. Buckwhead shined twice on his homies The Pharcyde’s 1992 Bizarre debut, kickin’ memorable masturbation memories on “On The Down Low;” and after a delay-of-game call, the fellas even dropped their own single, “Dips,” a few years later. But then, unfortunately, The Wascals also dropped... out of sight. The compilation "Greatest Hits" brings together material by "The Wascals", including previously unreleased recordings as well as singles that originally came out back in 1994. Despite its ironic title, this is not a traditional greatest-hits collection, but rather an archival release that gathers the group’s key tracks and offers the most complete picture of their short yet fascinating history.
